The Story of the Check In

The Girlfriend’s Check In began as a virtual gathering during the pandemic when Dr. Courtney Tate created a space for women to pause, reflect, and stay connected during an uncertain season. What started as a simple online conversation quickly grew into a meaningful annual tradition that now welcomes 40 to 50 women each year for an afternoon of reflection, encouragement, and celebration.

As the founder and visionary behind The Girlfriend’s Check In, Dr. Tate continues to design the experience as a space where women can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and build genuine community. Each year the gathering centers themes of growth, faith, and alignment, creating room for honest reflection and renewed purpose.

The event is proudly supported by Aligned Coaching and Consulting as the primary sponsor, helping bring the vision to life and ensuring that women have a meaningful space to gather, reflect, and move forward with clarity for the season ahead.

2026 Theme: Restoration

This year we are gathering around the idea of restoration. Not becoming someone new but returning to what is whole true and aligned.

Together we will reflect on what needs to be restored in our lives our energy our vision and our faith as we move into a new season.
